Here's a rundown of a few of the cars that passed through our shop in 2008:

1972 Chevrolet 4x4 Pickup

Disc brake conversion and gears.

1972 Ford Mustang Convertible

When this car arrived at our shop, the motor was producing 187 RWHP from a 351C motor. We rebuilt the motor to produce 400 HP on 91 octane.

1963 Austin Healy Kit Car

This beautiful piece of machinery was brought to our shop for completion. We rewired most of the car, including the stereo. We installed a two-way alarm from CrimeStopper. The seats and center console were reupholstered. We installed window and door switches, trunk release and fabricated hood latches and trunk lift struts. Under the hood, we finished the final touches to the motor: radiator fans, coolant tank, wiring, etc.

SEMA Cars

In association with ProMotorSports of Oklahoma City (promotorsportspower.com), several 2008 SEMA vehicles were completed in our shop:

Spec Clutch Formula D Drift S13/14

Gary Lang's Spec Clutch Formula D Drift Car also spent some time at our shop, following the Formula D event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The car is an S13 240sx chassis with an S14 front end conversion, powered by a Chevrolet LS1.

Coming in 2009

We have many other cars in progress as well. Some of the projects that we are currently working on include:

9-second 2003 Mitsubishi Evolution VIII
Supercharged 383 Stroker 1991 C4 Corvette
1973 Pontiac Trans Am Restoration
LS2-Powered 1968 Chevrolet Camaro
300HP Turbocharged 2004 Chevrolet Aveo
1955 Ford Pickup
Blown 1934 Ford Coupe Frame-off Build

Check back often for updates on some of these projects and others throughout 2009.

It's been a while since we've had any updates, so following this entry will be a summary of some of the projects we've worked on in the last few months. In the meantime, here is one of our recent projects.

The car is a 1993 Mazda RX7 Twin Turbo. We installed a V-mount intercooler and fabricated custom brackets and charge pipes.

We also fabricated a custom aluminum battery box and relocated it to the trunk. The battery was replaced with an Odyssey Gel-Cell.

Each part has been meticulously cleaned and powder coated by Perfect Finish Coatings. They can be found at www.perfectfinishcoatings.com

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Stealth Stereo Install
Monday, February 11, 2008, 11:46 AM - Projects

We've just completed a stealth radio installation on a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible. The owner of the vehicle wanted the vehicle to appear as original stock at first glance, and also didn't want the integrity of the vehicle hurt in any way. Therefore, the original radio was kept in its stock location, and the new Alpine CDA-9887 unit was installed in the glove box. The original 4" x 10" speaker was removed from the dash, and replaced with two 4" MB Quart component speakers. Tweeters were added down on the kick panels, using factory screw locations. An Alpine MRP-F550 amplifier powers the deck speakers and tweeters, mounted underneath the passenger seat. Power from the amplifier was taken from the starter cable and run underneath the car, passing through a factory grommet, so as to appear as stock as possible. No wiring for the stereo can be seen under the hood or in the vehicle.

1953 Hudson Hornet Supercharger Install

Our latest work in progress is a Paxton centrifugal supercharger install on a 1953 Hudson Hornet with the original 308 cubic inch flathead six cylinder. We are also adding a vintage air conditioning system. All of the brackets and piping have to be custom made; no "kits" exist for this vehicle. This system is going to use the original "Twin H-Power" air cleaners as intake filters for the supercharger.
